Our General Journal Worksheet is a “quick and easy” to use tool for accountants to download a beginning trial balance from QUICKBOOKS or PEACHTREE, make adjustments in a general journal worksheet, and view and print a revised trial balance. It can be used in the field and requires virtually no setup. It is also a great learning tool for beginning accounting students. A downloaded beginning trial balance (downloaded to a separate Excel worksheet from QUICKBOOKS or PEACH TREE) can be copied and pasted to the General Journal. End of period adjustments can be made in the General Journal immediately below the pasted trial balance and a revised Trial Balance can be viewed and printed. This application was not designed to be an accounting system. However, having said that, it is possible for a small, cash basis, non-inventory, non-payroll business to record transactions in the General Journal and prepare a year end Trial Balance acceptable for preparing financial statements and tax return.
