Five Year Financial Ratio Analysis #B4
Calculating financial ratios – and plotting them into the future – can be a real benefit to decision-makers (officers, bankers, etc.). It can also be a big pain in the neck unless you are an analyst. Our financial ratio spreadsheet automatically calculates 19 critical ratios based on standardized financial analysis formulas. Liquidity, turnover, leverage, and earnings ratio formulas are built into our spreadsheet.
The user first needs to input data from the last five annual tax returns (or fewer if the firm is less than five years old). Then, project your estimated tax return data into the next five years. It’s a guessing game at that point. We know that. But we’ve designed the spreadsheet to allow the user to do realistic “what if” calculations. And we’ve made it as easy as we can.
We’ve also set it up to print graphic displays of ratio changes based on the user’s assumptions. (Banks like that, too.)
